The Penina Nyawira Foundation is a non-governmental organization founded in 2017 by Lucy Gitonga, to provide education opportunities for underprivileged students and the elderly in Kenya. The Foundation was started with the goal of paying school fees for the needy students who are unable to pay their tuition fees due to financial constraints. Our goal is to create a more equitable and just society where education serves as a catalyst for positive change.
Since its founding in 2017, the Penina Nyawira Foundation has made a significant impact on the lives of underprivileged students in Kenya. Through our sponsorship program, we have provided financial assistance to numerous students from primary school all the way to college, helping them to achieve their academic and professional goals. Our mentorship program has also provided guidance and support to students, helping them navigate the challenges of pursuing an education and preparing for the workforce.

Penina Foundation has helped me reach my educational goal. It found me when I did my kcpe exam and I was not able to join secondary school because of financial issues. I was taken to high school, where after 4years I was through. I am thankful because they did not leave me at that level. I was told to choose a course where I chose Health Records and Information Technology which am in my second year now. May God bless the Penina foundation.
